POSITION SUMMARY:
Jewish Family Service of Cincinnati is seeking a Mental Health Professional to join our growing Youth Mental Health program. This new department is a high priority within our agency. Its mission is to address the unmet mental health needs of youth, teens, and young adults through counseling, coordination of care, community education and programming, and partnership building opportunities.
This position will work across the Youth Mental Health program and JFS (as needed) to provide diagnostic assessment and limited counseling services for youth, teens, young adults, and their families, as necessary. This position will work directly with the Director, Youth Mental Health Services to develop a clinical intake process that aligns with Medicaid and CARF accreditation standards and JFS customer service goals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Diagnostic Assessment and Treatment Planning:
- Respond to Mental Health referrals from community members and partners.
- Complete behavioral health diagnostic assessments for Youth Mental Health clients, including youth, teens, young adults, and their families, as needed.
- Develop individualized, medically necessary treatment recommendations for individuals.
- Collaborate with both the professional community and the client’s natural support system, to assess current needs for treatment.
- Diagnose appropriately using the current edition of the DSM.
- Utilize therapeutic interview and assessment techniques appropriate for each client’s needs, including Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Strengths Based and Positive Psychotherapy approaches, in addition to other agency-endorsed practices.
- Provide individual and family therapy as dictated by the client’s needs.
- Coordinate ongoing service needs.
- Provide intentional clinical interventions and services in accordance with best practice, professional ethics, and boundaries.:
- Manage time and tasks efficiently to meet required timelines. Maintain accurate, timely treatment records for each client.
- Track data and outcomes to determine program efficacy.
- Lead, coordinate, or collaborate with other initiatives and/or projects, as assigned.
Position Requirements
- A master’s degree in a behavioral health field preferred; LSW, LISW, PC, PCC, MFT or IMFT license active or pending approval, required.
- At least 1-3 years of experience in mental health service planning/delivery with youth, teens, and/or young adults.
- Cultural knowledge of key populations served; Skills for communication and interaction across cultures.
- Strong writing and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate with, and engage, community partners and manage projects.
- A flexible work schedule is offered, with some evening and weekend hours required, according to agency, stakeholder, and client need.
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable operating transportation, and proof of auto insurance
- Applicants must be able to pass a drug test and background check
- Physical requirements of this position include standing for extended periods of time and sitting for extended periods of time. Candidates must be able to lift at least 25 lbs.

- Pay range is $23.53 – $32.42/hour based on experience
