Description
The Jewish Cemeteries of Greater Cincinnati (JCGC) Landscape Specialist is a critical support role of this small nonprofit organization that performs burials for the Cincinnati Jewish community and maintains 25 local cemeteries. The specialist will oversee all landscape planning and maintenance across the 25 cemeteries. This position reports to the Foreman. This is a full time, non-exempt position.
The landscape specialist serves on the grounds team. Their portfolio will include planting and maintaining seasonal garden beds; planting and maintaining shrubs at an appropriate size as to not interfere with monuments; and planting, maintaining, and processing trees. The landscape specialist will also be responsible for sod instillation in special areas of the cemeteries. All tools required to perform the above tasks will be regularly maintained by the landscape specialist. This team member will assist burial staff when required, including opening and closing graves, attending burial services, and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Requirements:
Ohio Driver’s License
3+ Years of experience in cemeteries, landscaping, or a similar trade Proficiency in electronic communications (texting/email) Proficiency in tree and plant identification
Desired Skills:
- Arboretum Experience
- Experience driving a backhoe or similar equipment
- Mechanical repair knowledge
Schedule:
Monday thru Friday, 8:00AM-4:30PM, Sunday and holiday overtime sometimes required.
