Workum Summer 2022 Week 3: Better Late than Never

Hello!

My name is Sarah Litwak, I am a Workum intern at the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati this summer, and I am going to be blogging about all of the amazing things being experienced by the summer 2022 Workum Interns.

Here’s a little about me: I am going into my senior year at the University of Cincinnati, double majoring in Creative Writing and Psychology. After graduation, I plan on continuing my education and going to graduate school to get a PhD in psychology and eventually work as a practicing child psychologist. I will try to make jokes throughout these posts (I’m unsure of how well they’ll turn out, though). I found my passion for marketing and social media about a year ago, and I am so lucky to have had now three different opportunities to grow in these fields.

I decided to do these weekly updates for a few different reasons. A big one being that my supervisor suggested the idea as a chance for me to do some more creative writing than Instagram captions would call for. In all seriousness, though, I thought it would be a great way to not only promote Workum as a program, but also give a peek into some of the different organizations in the Cincinnati Jewish community. So, this is almost going to be like a series of interviews that will allow you to get to know the Workum Interns and their organizations.

To get the ball rolling, let me tell you about my experiences with the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati marketing department! In the past few weeks, I’ve mainly been working on smaller projects, such as social media posts, photo touch ups, and almost unnoticeable (but not unappreciated) edits on the Federation’s website. However, starting next week, I will be working on (what I believe to be) one of my main projects for the summer: updating the Create Your Jewish Legacy website. Of course, these updates won’t be published until long after I’m gone, but I’m still so excited to be collecting the needed content. This project is going to include taking and editing my own photos to use for the website, as well as making sure all of the photos chosen to use have proper descriptions. It’s going to be a lot of work, but I cannot wait to get started!

I wish I had more to tell you! Unfortunately, I am just one person, and I haven’t been doing anything over the top exciting yet (I’ll tell you when the exciting things happen, though). I can’t wait to introduce you to all of the other Workum interns and give them a chance to talk about their experiences in the program.

 Until next time!
Sarah
