Shomrei Olam – Jewish Environmental Advocates of Cincinnati Environmental Intern
Shomrei Olam is an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) non-profit, dedicated to advocating for the Jewish Community to take better care of the environment, through advocacy, education, and action.
Position Responsibilities
- Work on several initiatives that promote the organization’s mission to better care for the environment.
- Craft an environmental sustainability pocket guide containing practical steps to living a more sustainable lifestyle, laced with Jewish grounding and wisdom regarding the environment, and guidance for the proper disposal of problematic household items.
- Create a “Go Green Guide” for institutions, a suggestive list of steps a community organization, such as a synagogue, can take toward a greener footprint.
- Update content on Jewish thought related to caring for the environment.
- Add to the organization’s list of at-home lifestyle changes that can lower a household’s carbon footprint.
