POSITION SUMMARY: Annual Giving Officer will support operations at all levels of the Jewish Federation’s Annual Campaign and will be an integral part of the team helping to keep the campaign, its functions, and communications on track. The Annual Giving Officer will also be expected to participate in fundraising efforts to benefit the Annual Campaign. The Annual Giving Officer will aid in the execution of the Development Department’s key events throughout the year. This team member will be responsible for overseeing the Donor Stewardship support that is crucial to the success of the organization. Additionally, the Annual Giving Officer will identify, cultivate, and develop leaders and connect them to the Jewish Community. This position reports to the Senior Annual Giving Officer.
MORE ABOUT THE ROLE:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Manage tracking, reporting, communications and scheduling for the Annual Giving Team, including lay leaders and volunteer solicitors
- Donor Stewardship Support (celebration and sympathy, event follow up, etc…)
- Manage Silver Circle Society Stewardship and Events (donors who have been giving to the Federation for 25+ years)
- Personally manage a portfolio of donor prospects
- Lead/Assist with planning and execution of fundraising events
- Supporting cross-division initiatives as required, working collaboratively with colleagues across the department and the organization
- Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements
CANDIDATES SHOULD HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 3-5 years of experience in fundraising, marketing, sales, business development or significant involvement in the Jewish community.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, meticulous attention to detail and follow-up.
- Self-starter with demonstrated ability to set goals, tasks and timetables and manage workflow.
- Must be organized, detailed and have ability to multi-task.
- Entrepreneurial, can-do attitude.
- Strong event planning skills preferred.
- Some early morning meetings, evenings and weekend meetings and events are required.
- Ability to work in and build strong collaborative team, both internally and externally.
- Commitment to the mission of the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati and knowledge of, or willingness to learn, Jewish customs and practices.
