Artificial intelligence is changing the job search, but not every AI tool lives up to its promises. Many platforms advertise instant applications, guaranteed interviews, or AI-powered shortcuts that offer little real value—and some may even put your personal information at risk.

In this session, you’ll learn how to cut through the noise and identify common AI job-search traps, including auto-apply bots, questionable résumé builders, misleading interview simulators, and other tools that overpromise and underdeliver. We’ll explore why these tools often fall short, how they can hurt your job search, and what to use instead.

You’ll also discover practical ways to use legitimate AI tools, including Microsoft Copilot, to strengthen your résumé, prepare for interviews, research employers, and work more efficiently throughout your job search. Leave with the knowledge and confidence to separate helpful AI from hype and make informed decisions in today’s technology-driven job market.
